Asteroid is a stony celestial body which orbits the sun. It is also called as planetoid. 27 Euterpe is a bright and massive asteroid which lies in the main belt. It was discovered by John Russell Hind, a renowned British astronomer. Its discovery was made by him on November 8, 1853. Its name “Euterpe” comes from Greek mythology. In Greek mythology Euterpe means Muse of music.
