23 Thalia is huge asteroid in the asteroid belt. Its surface is mainly composed of iron- and magnesium-silicates and it is considered as an S-type asteroid. It was discovered on 15 Dec, 1852 by English astronomer John Russell Hind. He made this discovery at W. Bishop’s observatory in London, England. Bishop got its name Thalia from the Greek mythology.
