Emphysema is a long term anomalous harmful lung disease. In the state of Emphysema, functioning of the lungs gets destroyed and lung tissues required to maintaining the proper shape. It was discovered by Swedish medical doctor and researcher, Carl-Bertil Laurell in 1963. He was the prominent Professor of clinical chemistry at Lund University (Sweden).
