Western Australia is a state of Australia bordered by the Indian Ocean to the North and West. It was discovered in 1616 by 17th century Dutch sailor and explorer, Dirk Hartog. He reached at the western coast of Australia during his expedition. He reached at an Island on the coast of Shark Bay (Western Australia) which is named after him as Dirk Hartog Island.
