Blood Plasma is the yellowish colored liquid in which the blood cells are suspended. It is mainly water and it includes dissolved proteins, clotting factors, glucose, hormones, mineral ions and carbon dioxide.

It was discovered by Charles Richard Drew, an African-American physician in 1938. During World War II, Drew’s discovery of blood plasma saved thousands of lives.
