10 Hygiea is one of the asteroids of main asteroid belt. Its mass is approximately
2.9% of the total mass of the main belt and its diameter is nearby 350–500 km. It is fourth largest body by mass and volume placed at asteroid belt. Its surface is carbonaceous.

It was discovered in Italy on April 12, 1849 by Italian astronomer, Annibale de Gasparis. Its name comes from Greek and Roman mythology.
