Uranium is a silvery white metallic chemical and radioactive element. It is a fuel for nuclear power plants and atomic weapons in its one form of isotope. It was discovered in 1789 by Martin Heinrich Klaproth, a German chemist and pharmacist. Later Antoine Becquerel, the French physicist discovered the radioactive properties of uranium in 1896.
