Milky Way, a vast collection of stars of our home galaxy is visible on a clear night sky. As it is visible to the naked eye, it must have been the early ancestors of ours who noticed it first. The Greeks have proposed that it is collection of stars and it was Galileo, who, with the help of his rudimentary telescope, claimed that the Milky Way is actually a compilation of stars. In 1920’s Edwin Hubble gave conclusive evidence about the galaxies.
