Who discovered Sickle-cell disease?

Sickle-cell disease (also known as drepanocytosis or sickle-cell anaemia) is a genetic disorder of the blood. It decreases the flexibleness of body cells, blocks the flow of blood and creates many complex problems. It damages kidney, spleen, brain and liver. It was discovered and described by American physician, James Bryan Herrick.

    He did not discover Sickle Cell Disease! Sickle Cell Disease has been around for many more than 100 years!!! In 1910, he was the first to write about it in the United States Western Medicine Literature from research started in 1906.
