Oxygen is a colorless, tasteless and, odorless gas in earth’s atmosphere which is vitally important for human and animal life. It was discovered independently by Carl Wilhelm Scheele, a Swedish pharmaceutical chemist in 1772 and by Joseph Priestly, an English theologian in 1774.
