The nucleus is made up of nucleons (neutrons and protons) and it is located at the centre of an atom. Nucleus was discovered by British chemist and physicist Ernest Rutherford in the year 1911. He is known as the father of nuclear physics. In 1908, he won the Noble Prize for his achievements in chemistry.
