North Pole the northernmost point on earth located diametrically opposite to the South Pole. It is a point in the Northern hemisphere where the earth’s axis of rotation meets its surface. It is also known as Geographic North Pole or Terrestrial North Pole.

It was first discovered by American explorer Robert Edwin Peary on April 6th, 1906. Richard Byrd ,a naval officer and Floyd Bennett an American aviator were the first people to pass over the North Pole through airplane on May 9th, 1926.
