Nitrogen is a tasteless, colorless, odorless gas and chemical element. Its chemical symbol is N and atomic number is 7. It is a nonflammable gas found in the earth’s atmosphere.

It was discovered by the Scottish physician and chemist Daniel Rutherford in 1772. He discovered this gas by removing oxygen and carbon dioxide from the air.
