Barbados is a Caribbean Island country located in the Lesser Antilles, West Indies. Bridgetown is the capital of Barbados. It lies in the west of North Atlantic, East of Caribbean Sea and Windward Islands. Its width is about 23 km and length is about 34 km.

It was first discovered in 1536 by famous Portuguese explorer, Pedro a Campos during his voyage to Brazil. Later it was discovered by American explorer, John Wesley Powell on 14th May, 1625.
