Ascorbic acid also known as vitamin C, is an essential element of human nutrition. It was discovered by prominent Hungarian physiologist, Albert von Szent-Gyorgyi de Nagyrapolt. He was awarded with Nobel Prize in 1937 in Medicine for his discoveries of ascorbic acid and study of reactions and components of citric acid cycle.
