Amazon River is the world’s second longest river located in South America. It flows within the Brazil, Colombia and Peru. Its upper part lies in the Andes Mountains (Maranon River).
It was discovered in 1500 by Spanish explorer, Vicente Yanez Pinzon. He was the first European to navigate into the Amazon River and became the first explorer to discover its waterway.
I am confused. I thought Pedro Teixeria discovered the amazon river. Am I correct or am I thinking of something else?
