Asteroids or planetoids are group of small rock-ribbed celestial bodies. They orbit the sun. 35 Leukothea is a huge abeyant and dark asteroid of the main-belt (between Mars and Jupiter). It was discovered on April 19, 1855 by famous German astronomer, Karl Theodor Robert Luther. He discovered asteroids when he was working in Dusseldorf, Germany. Its name “Leukothea” comes from Greek mythology. According to Greek mythology, Leukothea is a sea goddess.
